Surfachem Deutschland, part of the Surfachem Group, is growing and looking for a new Technical Account Manager within the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). Dealing with clients in the cosmetics, personal care and pharmaceutical markets, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing existing accounts as well as prospecting for new opportunities.

You will be expected to attract, build and maintain business through effective promotion of the company’s products and services and will be responsible for all sales activity to maximise sales and margin performance across the account portfolio within the area.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote the product range and services to all current and prospective customers within designated geographic/account responsibility
  • Understand customer pains, need and product development initiatives
  • Advise customers on the selection of formulation ingredients
  • Provide high quality meeting reports and accurately document opportunity pipeline. Establish rigorous follow up mechanisms to maintain momentum and close sales deals
  • Prepare quotations/respond to price requests/respond to sample and information requests rapidly and comprehensively to create best customer impression
  • Lead all price and service negotiations within agreed commercial parameters
  • Accurately document customer meetings and establish rigorous follow up mechanisms to maintain momentum and close deals
  • Exceed agreed quarterly and annual KPI (Key Performance Indicators), sales and gross margin targets
  • Cooperate closely with the internal Customer Service department

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Experience:

  • Techno-commercial role in the B2B environment in the Personal Care industry
  • Sales Account Management
  • Chemical industry/products/services
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Cosmetics and detergents technology, Life Science or Chemistry

Skills:

  • Technical Personal Care knowledge
  • Several years chemical/raw material sales experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and relationship building
  • Commercial acumen
  • Negotiation
  • Organisation & Planning
  • Presentation skills
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel and Powerpoint mandatory, ERP/CRM is a plus)
  • Numeric agility
