Water(less)
With water demand set to outweigh supply by 40% by 2030, and set to increase by 55% by 2050, the Cosmetics industry must embrace change to counteract the consequences. What’s more, water use has grown globally at more than twice the rate of population increase in the last century - what will this look like in another century?
Currently, the average skincare product contains between 60-85% water, and the average shampoo contains 80%. To minimise this, there are a range of alternative formats formulators can utilise to reduce water usage in cosmetics products.
Here at Surfachem, we have explored a range of formats and created our own Water(less) concept.
