The ‘cherry-coded’ trend is set to be one of 2025’s biggest beauty trends. This spans everything from red-cherry outfits to glossy red lips and home accents. It’s defining 2025 as a trend that is bold, nostalgic, and versatile. Cherry has gone from fruit to beauty icon, with velvety lip tints and juicy scents fuelling a major comeback. From Tom Ford and Glossier to Fenty and Kayali, cherry is dominating makeup and fragrance.
Predicted by Pinterest, cherry is set to be 2025’s trending colour; this rich hue is thriving in cosmetics, from lip products to blushes, eyeshadows, and fragrances. Pinterest searches for "cherry vibe" are up 325% and are set to increase, along with dark-cherry themes across fashion and lifestyle.
Cherry notes dominated in 2024, known for their juicy punch that pairs perfectly with delicate, long-wearing bases like amber, vanilla, frangipane, smoke, and almond. Tom Ford’s Cherry collection and Sabrina Carpenter’s viral Cherry Baby perfume were circulating around social media.
Forbes predicts that black cherry will be one of the biggest trends of the winter. Glossier's Black Cherry Collection was one of the first beauty brands to hop on this trend. The popularity was immediate and more than 50% higher than the company had anticipated. Furthermore, "Cherry Lacquer", a deep black cherry red, stands out as a key shade for Autumn/Winter 2025-2026, reflecting a move toward richer, more sophisticated tones, according to WGSN and Coloro.
The embrace of dark berry tones marks the next evolution of the cherry trend, expanding beyond red to include rich purples and deeper berry hues, fuelled by the popularity of dark cherry red and the rise of black forest berry-inspired shades.
